Urim & Thummim Casting Lot: Four stones, two white glass stones (Urim), and two black Thummim real stones. The reason for two of each stone is that the "im" is the dual form in Hebrew. The Urim and Thummim was God's way of answering His people. Urim (אורים) means light and Thummim (תמים) probably means darkness/truth. Possible recreation; Urim, white stone means no for an answer, and Thummim black stone means yes. 1 Samuel 14:41 is regarded by biblical scholars as key to understanding the Urim and Thummim;[2] the passage describes an attempt to identify a sinner via divination, by repeatedly splitting the people into two groups and identifying which group contains the sinner.
