Elamite Tablet Recreation (resin cast). The tablet is a dedication document inscribed for the Elamite king, Untash-Napirisha, who ruled from 1275 to 1240 BC, a contemporary of Shalmaneser I of Assyria. It records his construction of a new temple in the hope of gaining favour with the deity, Inshushinak. The tablet excavated near Susa in Iran. About 1250 BC. About 1 1/4 inches by 1 1/2 inches. 5 lines of cuneiform on both sides. Picture shows the front and back sides of the tablet. Full translation of the text is included.
