Governor of Jerusalem Seal Recreation: resin cast seal and its impression about 7/8 of an inch. Dates to circa 6th -7th century BC. The inscription in Paleo-Hebrew says, belonging to the governor of the city (Jerusalem). This position of governor of the city is mentioned twice in the Bible, II Kings 23:7 and II Chronicles 34:8. It was discovered in the Western Wall plaza excavation. The seal impression shows two standing figures facing each other wearing knee length stripped garments.
