Biblical King (Ahab?) Recreation. Resin cast about 2 inches. Dates to the 9th century BC. Original on display at the Israel Museum. The golden head band or crown shows he is a king. I think it is most likely king Ahab. The head was found in 2017 during excavations at a site called Abel Beth Maacah, located just south of Israel's border with Lebanon. I King 15:20 mentions Abel Beth Maacah in a list of cities attacked by the Aramean King Ben Hadad in a campaign against the Israelite kingdom. The head was part of a statue that would be 8 to 10 inches tall. This was an amazing discovery. The original recreation was made by dlpStudios.
