Ophir Ostracon Recreation is resin cast about 2 inches by 2 inches. It was discovered at Tell Qasile in 1946. It dates to the 8th century BC. The Paleo-Hebrew inscription reads, "gold from Ophir to the house(temple) of Horon, 30 shekels." Solomon received cargo ships from Ophir every three years (I Kings 10:22) with 420 talents of gold (I Kings 9:28). This discovery confirms that there was a place called Ophir where gold was obtained in ancient times.
