Quintus Sergius Paulus Inscription recreation (plaster cast). An inscription found in Kythraia in northern Cyprus refers to one Quintus Sergius... whose last name is missing from the inscription, but may likely be one Quintus Sergius Paulus. THe carved inscription indicates that he must have lived during the reign of either Claudius, Gaius or Tiberius Caesar and reads:
�[CLAUD]IUS CAESAR SABASTOA ....[Q]UINTUS SER[GIUS PAULUS]�
When Paul the apostle travelled on his first missionary journey to Cyprus has encountered the Roman governor of the island called Sergius Paulus, whom he led to Christ. There are a numberof references to him outside the bible in inscriptions and writings, this being one of those possible inscriptions. See Acts 13:6-12.
