Artemis/Diana Statue Recreation (about 9 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. At Ephesus in Ionia, Turkey, her temple became one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It was probably the best known center of her worship except for Delos. She was worshiped primarily as a mother goddess. Her cult image depicted the "Lady of Ephesus" adorned with multiple tear-shaped amber beads that also adorned her ancient wooden xoanon. In Acts 19, Ephesian metalsmiths who felt threatened by Saint Paul's preaching of Christianity, jealously rioted in her defense, shouting “Great is Artemis/Diana of the Ephesians!†Only one of 121 columns still stand in Ephesus.
