Nora Stone Recreation (resin half cast, about 5 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches). Found in 1773 in the village of Pula in Sardinia near the ancient Phoenician city of Nora. Dates to about the 9th century BC. The inscription has the place names Sardinia and Tarshish. There were several port cities named Tarshish. Jonah's ship was going to Tarshish (probably Cyprus, Jonah 1:3). Solomon had ships of Tarshish (I Kings 10:22)probably meaning heavy cargo ships.
