P1 Papyrus of the Gospel of Matthew One sided Recreation Framed. Real papyrus about 8 1/2 inches by 7 inches. A one sided recreation of the Papyrus P1 found at Oxyrhynchus by Grenfell & Hunt mounted in a 8 1/2 by 11 inch frame. This papyrus was the first of the series of Biblical manuscripts discovered at Oxyrhynchus and is dated to the early 3rd century AD. It was part of a quire that contained the Gospel of Matthew and has various Nomina Sacra which are written in abbreviated forms: ΙC XC YC ΠNA KΣ. The surviving text of Matthew are verses 1:1-9, 12 and on the other side 13.14-20.
