Biblical Archaeology:
Hittites

Another important discovery was the Hittites and the decipherment of their texts.

Scholars thought the Bible was wrong because there was no evidence of Hittites until Hittite pottery was dug up.

The above picture is Ramesses the Great. He battled the Hittites at Kadesh, and almost lost his life. Both sides claimed victory, but it was a draw. A treaty was signed.

Hittite Treaties

Scholars see the Book of Deuteronomy patterned after Hittite and other ancient Near Eastern treaties.
